Blythe Funnelcake created this poetry postcard. She adds this background:
I’ve been working on panning stationary objects in my photography, and I’ve been largely unsuccessful, but I liked this photo — in part because the concept worked, but also because it corresponds to my life right now: moving too quickly to focus on most things, but keeping my eyes on certain set parts of life that keep me in balance. And the poem plays off that and comes from my tendency to get stressed about all the things that need to get done, especially while life is in transition.

Blythe! The swishing in the photo makes me feel like I’m right there. The metaphors speak so well to how I feel about getting through each day. You touch on something many of us experience. Great stuff, Ms. F.

This is definitely one of my favorites. The photo is almost 3 dimensional and the “buckets empty themselves” — everything swirls in a circle. Great work.

Great imagery on all counts. Appreciate the background (back story), too.

(As co-editor of the site, I should not be commenting. But this is my electro-wife we’re talking about, so I have to tell her that this piece is brilliant. And that I lurv her.)

Wonderful. I love this sense of the tree speeding along!
“Running backwards, downhill” is how I’ve always thought of it.
