I always wondered why a lifeguard would choose me when he could have the best body on the beach—and he’d know exactly where she was sitting, because he could see her from the throne.

gorgeous, I love the blues here, such a wonderful photo and the phrase ‘framed in a corona of light’ is fabulous.

i think the lifeguard fantasy (as in the buff guy with the red shorts) is buried somewhere inside our collective psyche, so … yummy dream!
and OF COURSE it also works well on a less literal level, for me, about tangling naughtily (ironically) with salvation.

poem sounds short and to a point.not really the type of poem i enjoy, but the picture looks like a place were i would’nt mind being romantic.
